Kokkola Material Week 2026 Brings International Top Experts to Kokkola in November

Kokkola Material Week 2026 will take place in Kokkola, Finland, on November 9–13, 2026. As Northern Europe’s largest event focusing on material chemistry and sustainable industry, the event once again brings together international experts, companies, researchers, decision-makers, and students to discuss the future of the chemical industry, bioeconomy, mineral economy, critical raw materials, and renewable energy.

The theme of the event is a responsible future and the industrial transition toward more sustainable solutions. The five-day seminar series will be held at Kokkola City Hall, which serves as the main venue for the event. During the week, participants will also visit Kokkola Arena for sports activities and networking opportunities. All seminars are free of charge for participants.

Kokkola Material Week has established its position as a significant international meeting place, especially for stakeholders in material chemistry, the battery industry, and the green transition. The 2025 event attracted approximately 2,600 participants.

Diverse Program Highlights

The 2026 program consists of several themed event days:

Monday, November 9 – BioKokkola

Current solutions in bioeconomy and sustainable material development.

Tuesday, November 10 – TechKokkola & Grand Seminar

International keynote speeches on the future of technology, the chemical industry, and innovations.

Wednesday, November 11 – GeoKokkola, Business Insights & Industry Meeting Point

Critical raw materials, mineral economy, business networking, and subcontracting opportunities.

Thursday, November 12 – ReKokkola & H2Kokkola

Circular economy, energy solutions, and hydrogen economy development.

Friday, November 13 – FutureFair

Future technologies and interactive program designed for young people.
